ArenaNet detailed just how the game’s dungeon system will work in a post over on the Guild Wars 2 website. As developer Jeff Grubb explains, the game currently has eight dungeons, the earliest of which is accessible starting at level 35. The goal, Grubb explains, is to create open-ended, sandbox-style instances with a compelling story to go along with it.
Dungeons are split up into two modes: story mode, which, as the name suggests, is story-focused and suitable for casual groups; explorer mode, on the other hand, offers up a significant challenge boost, emphasizing teamwork to make it through each encounter. To unlock the latter mode, you’ll need to have completed the dungeon’s story mode first.
In the video see see allot of the classes in in action casting their staffs and hacking their way though one of the 8 dungeons. Followed by more underwater combat and under water pets!

First time i’ve seen actual underwater combat, looks sweet! Also I know they’ve always been saying this but the combat is really visual and it’s visually obvious what abilities do.
Pretty cool information here. I definitely look forward to hitting up dungeons with friends, and trying out the explorer mode. Kind of wondering how long they’ll keep my attention though.
