On the poll on the main page I asked "Which race will you play first in Guildwars 2".
At the moment there is only 4 votes though this could be a indication that players have had their time as a human in the original Guildwars and are very excited for a change of new races.
I have to say that Logan Thackeray does look like a pretty cool human so I will play one eventually but I guess also there is no mystic really about them so it will be interesting what abilities they have.

I think they will balance out roughly. At the start they won't be many humans but eventually I think the populations will be more or less even. Once your poll gets at least 30 votes then you can make assumptions.
Why 30? 30 is the magic number in statistics of course!

I recon most first chars will be non human for most players, but there will be allot of human alt's.

Yea thats basically how I see it, then when playing their alts players will be like "Hey! Humans are pretty damn awesome!" and switch that to their main.

in my opinion the humans look absolutely great! But then so do all the races imo, just because I have to make a choice I'm going with what fits me best and that would be a sylvari ranger definately – untill perhaps a new profession catches my interest in the future…

I know I will have a dilemma. It's inevitable. I definitely want a Sylvari character, since they are completely new, but I also want the others just as much, including human. It's bound to stem from the different clothing ranges, although if not much of that is shared pre release then I suppose I will just have to guess.
I do, however, agree with NigthRaider. I think many playes will share my interest and excitment in the new races and will go straight for them as primary or main characters.

Hey, at least I gave explanations for my decision! =P I will have a primary Sylvari, but will likely make all the races as soon as I get the game and then decide from there on :]

Don't mind my antics Aissa. Sometimes I say what I really feel and other times I sugarcoat it.
But in all honesty, I think the fairies will be able to carry their own weight. All 35 pounds of it.

I think the first character I create will be Human, simply because I traditionally make my first character as similar to myself as possible… (*hopes Aissa doesn't mention the sex-change his ranger had a few months ago.. ¬_¬*)
That said, I'll probably be creating as many characters as I can at release, 1) for birthday presents :3 and 2) to reserve my names (as I don't intend on keeping the same ones as in GW1). Whether or not I'll play the Human as much as the others remains to be seen, but it'll almost certainly be the first character I make! 
Edit: Also, I don't think the vote system actually works, since my vote doesn't seem to change anything?

My first choices for race are Sylvari, Norn and then maybe human. For RP point of view humans are most easily related to many players but because not many people will RP it is harder to tell. For those who played GW lot might be more interested about these new cool races first and then maybe play as human.
