I think Divinity's Reach looks amazing! It is so big and full of so many different things; each district has something going on or unique about it. I think it will take me a week or two to explore there on its own!

I really loved the garden in Divinity's Reach with sunlight be reflected in beams and the astralarium (I think thats what its called) spinning above

I don't know if you play(ed) GW1, but I believe the size of the GW2 world is comparable to that of the GW1 world with the Eye of the North expansion areas included.

Are you saying Gw2 when released, the world will be as big as all the campaigns + Eye of the north?!

Wow…Awesome…

Are we talking about the actual world? Or playable areas? Since it's tyria just imagine roughly the same amount of area on the map in GW1, maybe a bit more since it was cut off in places, also alot of areas on the map didint actually have playable areas as such.

tbh I've never played GW1 so really have no idea how big that is s:
I was meaning actual playable space, so about how long does it take to cross from one corner of the map to the other in GW1 or what real world country is about the same size?
(sorry for the newbness >.<)

In GW1 there instanced zones, and you can just fast travel to any outpost with the click of a button I so i wouln't know how long it takes to travel across

Ya Dojab, In Gw1 you could instant travel to key outposts and towns by clicking on the map, it will be the same in Gw2

I saw that teleporting is in GW2 with the previews but I more meant my question to get a general feel of the size of the new map based off the size of the original but no worries ^^;; thanks for the replies ^^ and sorry again about the newbieness..

After the movement of the world, Cantha and Elona have become unreachable (except for by the Order of Whispers), and so at least at first, we won't be able to access these areas.

Guild Wars 2 will be *roughly* the size of Prophecies and Eye of the North. Bare in mind however, the movement changed the coastlines, brought up Orr, etc.

I'd say the best way to judge the size of the original is to check out the page for Tyria on GWW (http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Tyria). That gives you a brief description of all the areas, and if you follow the links you can get a feel for each of the instances in each area.

Roughly speaking, there are about 60 instanced areas in Prophecies, along with outposts, PvP areas, etc. In general, instances aren't huge, but the sizes do vary quite considerably. But yeah, check the wiki for more details. :)

If you've played any other RPGs (TES: Oblivion for example), it might be easier to compare the world to those. :D

In terms of real-time distance (so time it takes to run from one end to the other) is about 45 minutes to 1 hour from Ascalon to Riverside Province via Lion's Arch. If I was to convert that into a distance in miles / kilometres then it would be a big number but right now I don't want to try to work that out.
