I've been responding to threads , and now that it is almost 6 am I figure I might as well make my own! What professions do you expect and hope are still to come? And which existing professions do you think probably wont make it from gw to gw2? Personally I hope to see the mesmer back, I expect to see the necromancer back, but I dont really see the paragon making a return here….. What about you guys? |

I don't see paragon coming since its sort of been intergrated into warrior, I just don't see Dervish returning. I expect ritualist and necromancer being combined into 1 class. I also expect to see mesmer and assassin return. |

Assassin? Though the ranger is already quite assasin like if he'd want to be though.. |

I really want and I expect the Necromancer. Am I right in thinking there wont be a monk? Because all class's can now have healing abilities. A class that incorporates Monk/Dervish/Paragon would be cool. |

I'm hoping to see the ritualist return. However I expect they will make it as was said earlier as a sort of necro rit mix. |

I've responded in a similar fashion on the official wiki: I want the necromancer to return – hopefully as Necromancer, if not then a necromancer of some form is all I want ^_^ |

I agree – I don't see the Paragon returning, and the Dervish seems to be iffy as well. I really do hope that the Monk will be given a makeover to be a prime profession for those looking into being Support characters. However, I'm drawing a blank as to what that makeover might look like… |

I'd heard that there was supposed to be a new reveal on the 14th, but I think that may have just been talk of something being relased, which turned out to be the Manifesto. I suspect a new profession will be revealed just before or just after Gamescon, since the people participating in the demo may well come across the remaining professions during the demo – especially those that chose to play the level 47 Charr. |

I think they will only have the 3 revealed professions in the demo and I think Necro is next to be revealed since the sylvari Killeen in Ghosts of Ascalon is clearly stated as a necromancer |

Oh! Today when I was reading Ghosts of Ascalon there was a mention (although very small and insignificant) of mesmers. Also divination and golemancer were mentioned as forms of magic… |

There is only 1 scholar class left; since we have had ele and now necro. It is possible that the remaining one is mesmer, but I think that the necro covers what the mesmer was useful for in GW1, which was mainly hexes and tbh not a lot else. |

Also in some demo videos I saw in a cutscene a 'Priestess of Dwayna'. More hint, hint |

That was an NPC :p they still have ties to the older gods so I don't think that's a hint at monks. |

Ok so I dug this up from an old article… I assume Elementalist's and Necromancers are scholars, rangers are adventuers and warriors are soldier so this can help us guess what professions come next… Scholar:
Adventurer:
Soldier:
Now I based on what i've seen so far (concept art, Ghosts of Ascalon) I think Mesmer is in which would be a scholar profession. There could also be a monk/fighting which would go under Adventurer and for some reason I have a feeling there will be a type of 'engineer' profession which could be either soldier or adventure. Based on this list what do you guys think? |
