Sounds interesting, they might play a role in some stories relating to the Norn, the mists and possibly the creation of Tyria. Anyone care to speculate anout the Kodan?

I could also imagine that Kodans might have “closer” relations to Norn. They might think that because Norns have the ability to transform onto bear (and some other similarities) they might be their “little cousins”, so to speak. After going through enough lives as Norns and going trough enlightenment they will born again as Kodans…

I also could imagine that in some future expansion we might have a playable race, The Kodans.

The way I read that article the Kodan more looked at the Norn as abominations or Kodans that have lost their way and that the Kodan have almost forsaken the Norn to in anyway related to them.

Same here.  Nonetheless, they'll provide an interesting climate.

I don't think the kodan will become a playable race in a later expansion, but I do think they will play some important role in a later expansion.

Well you are right. I didn’t make my point correctly. English isn’t my native language and sometimes it happens if I don’t concentrate. It would seem that at some point even Norns could reborn as Kodan (again), if they can prove their worth and they are not going to extinct themselves… So Norn’s might prove their worth when races are uniting against the elder dragons, if Kodan’s are wise enough to look past their believes and see others actions and let those speak for itself. But chance of that happening might not be high when Kodan’s are watching others through cloak of arrogance (as it seems to me).

So what I said earlier was speculating about future (not done very well).

I don’t see many other choices for playable race at this moment so I think that could be an option at least.

Hope this makes more sense now  ;)

There is also the possiblity that the Norn dont want to become Kodan or join their ranks. Norn are pretty arrogant about their abilities.

True, I wouldn’t want either, but from Kodan’s perspective, as top of reincarnation chain, what others want might not matter. They end up as Kodans when they have spent time in living lesser being lives and when they are enlightened enough.
True there is arrogance in Norn's too, but so have other races. Only the amount and how/where/when it shows varies.
