I have no interest in playing one, but it looks like they'd be a great saving force in a group with their Life Force and Death Shroud. I'd imagine they'd be a pretty good class for solo'ing too.

As far I can tell all professions will be good at soloing since its a persistent world there isn't always going to be a healer with you. I like how when a minion is summoned a skill opens up to use that minion although that might sop minion masters.

I will defiantly be playing a Necro, playing a minion master was really fun in the original.

Also I recon the goth look is pretty sexy  :P

It's settled, my first character will be Necromancer regardless of other professions that are released. I fell in lvoe with the style of play, the animations and the armour in GW1! I hope they will be as much fun to play in GW2

Something I just plucked from Massively: "The Fear condition is unique to the necromancer, one that should be fun to watch. Fear sends your enemies fleeing from you in terror for a short period of time. Given the range of abilities we've seen for the necro so far, the condition could just as easily be called 'common sense.'"

Well, who wouldn't freak out at the sight of a ;

Pissed off Asura :  summoning an army of stinking, frightening undead charging into you with only one goal:

to explode into your face , as if the screeching and hands of the dead from the ground trying to grab you by the feet to then drag you the heck into the ground hasn't already got you ocupied and scared shitless enough, you also have your eyes fixated on that little shitling Asura because he is covered by a swarm of poisenous bugs which if you let it get to close to you, kills you instantly…Now the worst thing is that he doesn't even need any of that, he could just suck- the- life – right out of you in an instant if he wanted…

But no. Necromancers are dark…twisted….little bastards.

Oh yeah, and if you're that bad ass Ranger I talked about earlier and you do manage to kill the necromancer…He'll just take his revenge on you as a freaking ghost….!

I must say, I'm in two minds about the fear condition.

It seems like it will at least make some battles ammusing, but I'm not sure exactly how useful it will be. It's already been stated that bosses aren't/won't be affected by it, which makes sense, but also seems like this would be the most useful time for it.

The developers also suggested that it (or maybe the skills inflicting it?) would function differently in PvP, but even so I'm not looking forward to seeing my character break down in a corner just because an Asura half my size made me have bad dreams. (Incidentally, do you think the Chrysocola Staff will make a comeback? If it does, and I ever see a male Asura carrying one, I'm just going to assume he's compensating for something ¬_¬).

Anyway, it seems to me like something despite ANet's best efforts to balance it, two weeks after release, it'll get nerf'd like hell. I guess I'll have to look forward to being proved wrong!

And that's why they are so awesome! Especially when they are female human wearing rather hot outfits that lull you into thinking oh she's pretty maybe I can get to know- oh god she's attacking me with minions and stealing my blood! D:

I also think that up to now Necros are the most OP profession and arre likely to get nerfed. Going off what is currently out most people will likely pick them for the durability.

They said that fear wont last longer than 2 seconds or so, it'd be just like another class using knockback

Seems that many like necromancers. Some reason I’m not interested so far, but that might change.

The Necro's in GW 2 look way sicker then in GW 1 but definatly not going to be my first choice
