"Magic is not a tool, little one. It is a river that unites us in its current."

I love that line :) . It makes me wanna play this game even more, as an Sylvari!

I like the concept art about them a lot. They look beautiful and exotic. History of this new race of Tyria is also interesting, young as race but their wisdom seems as old as world, they are quite mysterious too. I also like how they are represented in Ghosts of Ascalon novel: honest, direct, and focused.
I want to get more information about them as playing my character when the game releases.

Seems that Sylvari might be very popular race in Guild Wars 2.

What makes you interested and curious about this Race? Why you want to play as one?

For a start I like that you named the thread with a quote ^_^ I was going to do the same, eventually.

The thing that draws me to the Sylvari is their mystery. Since so little has been revealed about them I want to know more! Also, in the Concept Art book they look fantastic and I'm a sucker for aesthetics! I knew instantly that there would be a Necromancer profession, so a Night Sylvari Necromancer would be perfect.

Sylvari might be good for a player new to the GW series as they are new to the world and must lore ect. from the other races (players), I know it GW lore it doesn't actually work like this cause they know everything through their silly little tree.

Careful Red, I might just take offence to you calling there birthplace a silly little tree. I know they don't have the same depth of lore, but I think that is their point – the other races have it so it is another thing to set them apart in the world (rather than an afterthought for the developers.)

World holds many secrets and a lot of knowledge, all of that cannot be gained trough conventional means. Great wisdom can be gained just by being connected to the world around, above and beneath us, trees, flowers, animals, stones… Great magic flows trough all combining all together making things grow and blossom. Our “little tree” is symbol of knowledge which we all share in our great dream. Other races need a lifetime to get the knowledge and wisdom which we Sylvari have since birth.

Wow that's really deep Naur, and yes I love the quote "Magic is not a tool, little one".

Going by the poll on the front page, yes they will be a poplar race.

Im interested in them, they are new and are so innocent and ignorant to the cruel world they live in. Once they prove to me they have serious battle skills and some badass looking armor I might consider playing one.

I go for anything heavily connected to nature that is not too interested in fighting but will for what's right to protect themselves, another, or nature. I am gonna love having a pleasant race that is born from the world itself and doesn't try to hide it!

my massive love of the color green doesn't hurt either  ;D

Hahahah my fav colour is green also!

When I was in the first year of school we had to wear cloths of our fav colour to school and I dind have one, so I just looked out the window and saw so many shades of green and thought, you know what green is the best color.

Also girls with green eyes are uber rare and uber sexy.

The aroma of a roleplayer is unmistakable with this one. ::Ponder::
