Would be nice if there would be way to get this site show better in Google (and other engines) search results. Example I used search: Guild Wars 2 forums and this great site was last on page 1. If we get it up could be easier to get new members.

Firstly thanks for the complement. Redean, Aissa and myself have been working hard writing content and developing the site.
Yes, it doesn't appear for "Guild Wars 2 forums" but its 9th on the first page for "guild wars 2 forum".
There's no way we can compete with guildwars2forum.com simply because they have a domain under the terms of that search exactly.
My understanding is guildwars2guru.com is what used to be guildwarsguru.com and they migrated all their existing users over which was allot of users.
Theres also guildwars.incgamers.com
I think aesthetically we are better than those sites.
Im also going to be working on a openid/facebook/twiter/steam login system so its easier for people to interact with the site and forums.
Once this is done I might shell out some $$$ on search engine optimization and or advertising.
Finally yesterday I took steps to make the forum's topic more search engine optimized Eg, you can view this topic through the URL http://guildwars2community.com/forum/87/better-visibility-on-search-engines obviously this will take a week or two to see if it helps.

I agree that this site is better aesthetically and has the potential to be one of the greatest GW 2 communities/forums in net. So let’s hope that you get it little higher and people are wise enough not to take automatically those from top.
But not only the quantity what maters but the quality

I also think one of the best ways to advertise the forum is simply by word of mouth! Tell your friends to play GW or GW2 and join this forum! (Even better if you know people that already play GW)

SEO isn't that difficult so you probably don't need to spend any money on it, it's all about making sensible choices.
I just did a quick google, and found a few things to keep in mind. The keyword meta that's already in place is a good start. Also consider setting up a sitemap (http://www.bigoakinc.com/blog/create-a-website-sitemap-seo-tip-week-6/), and also make sure all internal links have sensible titles.
Maybe http://www.searchengineguide.com/jim-hedger/seo-101-basic.php would be of some use?
